About this deal

It is easy to read, absorb and understand with definitions introduced slowly, clearly and repeated at intervals, along with real examples to perhaps identify with. This book is written by people who know their shit and I highly recommend this book to anyone who suffers with OCD or is interested in OCD or wants to understand what someone they love is going through. Dr Heyman and Dr Derisley represented childhood OCD in the NICE Guideline Development Group, and contributed to the written national UK guidelines for the management of OCD. books selected by young people and health professionals to provide 13 to 18 year olds with high-quality support, information and advice about common mental health issues and related conditions. Moreover, the proposed exposure does not address the INTERPRETATION/APPRAISAL of the thought - and this is exactly what maintains the problem for this person. Using the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy, which is the proven method for helping those with OCD, it offers teenagers a structured plan of treatment which can be read alone, or with a parent, counsellor or mental health worker. It's well written, not preachy and even just reading out of interest might provide help to people who didn't know they needed it. I'm not in any way minimizing the fact that there are people that do have this fear as their OCD subtype, or saying that they are intentionally stigmatizing the HIV/AIDS community.

Using the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which is the proven method for helping those with OCD, it offers teenagers a structured plan of treatment which can be read alone, or with a parent, counsellor or mental health worker. If you know someone with OCD but don’t understand their mindset or how to help them, then this is also the book for you! For this I am forever grateful and will without a doubt use their services if needed again in the future.

Young people living with OCD experience recurrent obsessions or compulsions that are distressing and interfere with their social lives, relationships, educational functioning and careers. It offers day-to-day coping strategies you can start using right away, along with proven-effective self-help techniques that can help you maintain your progress. He has published over 250 scientific papers and recently received the Aaron T Beck award for contributions to cognitive therapy. I think if you had moderate OCD, this could work as a guidebook but honestly I do not know if it would work well on its own. From understanding child anxiety and OCD, to learning how to talk with an anxious child, to avoiding common traps and pitfalls (such as being overly protective or demanding) to identifying the ways in which parents have been enabling a child's anxious behaviors, this book is full of detailed guidance and practical suggestions.
